For many years Jesse and Linda King held Kid Fish. This was a rewards program for the local elementary and high school students who excelled scholastically throughout the year. The elementary children were given a day to go fish and the highschoolers were chosen to help the youngsters. Everyone got a day or two out of school. The Kings paid for all the fish to be stocked in a local pond out of their own pockets. The program quickly grew and the LMFRF found itself fortunate enough to start funding Kid Fish which Jesse and Linda were so fond of. The foundation paid for all the trout and the port-o-lets for the week long program.
Hopefully, the next Superintendent will allow the program to start back up again. It’s popularity in the local community was big.
